18 + WARNING: Vaping is very addictive

If you don’t use nicotine, you should not vape

What is E-Juice?

January 23, 2023

E-juice is the solution used in vaping devices. It consists of nicotine and flavourings dissolved in propylene glycol (PG) and vegetable glycerine (VG).

The mean daily use is 2-5 ml. A 30ml bottle lasts 1-2 weeks.

What is propylene glycol (PG)?

Propylene glycol (PG) helps to create the familiar ‘throat hit’ that smokers are used to, it can help make the transition from smoking to vaping easier.

Some people can find it irritating in the mouth or lungs and will choose e-juice with lower PG levels.

PG is also used in a wide range of products such as asthma inhalers, air disinfectants and food flavourings.

What is vegetable glycerine (VG)

The main purpose of vegetable glycerine (VG) is to produce a thick and dense vapour with a smooth feel. More vapour is produced with more VG in the e-juice.

VG is quite thick and is commonly used in cough syrups and toothpaste.

What are PG:VG ratios?

The ratio is a personal preference.

For example

  • 70:30 will give a stronger “throat hit”.
  • 50:50 will give a bigger cloud.

How addictive is nicotine?

Without nicotine vaping would not be popular.

Nicotine is as addictive as cocaine and heroin.

Many people who smoke or vape develop nicotine dependence. This makes quitting very hard.
